It’s been awhile since I’ve touched anything on this site, but I’m back and trying to be more consistent!
Some updates: I graduated from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism in May 2014 and stayed on in New York working at a global PR agency in their digital media department. After working there for a year, I decided to devote myself entirely to GIRLWITHABOOK Movement on a specific project we have been working on. GIRLWITHABOOK started off as a social media campaign in October 2012 and is now an official 501(c)(3) non-profit organization as of May 2015! We are currently working on creating a documentary series about the state of girls’ education in Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, India, and Nepal. My colleagues and I just came back from visiting these countries over the course of four months. Be sure to take a look at the content we’ve posted so far!
Some more background on me: My family and I moved around a lot while I was growing up. Here are all the places I’ve lived (in chronological order):
Cincinnati, Ohio
Karachi, Pakistan
Kiev, Ukraine
Bloomfield Hills, Michigan
Cairo, Egypt —- I studied abroad there for a year
Washington, DC
New York City
Washington, DC ———– I’m back!
What I am currently reading:
- I Remember Nothing by Nora Ephron
- Lately, I’ve been feeling a real kinship with Nora.
- Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
- It’s about time I started this.

I love it so far! It’s not what I was expecting at all
You have an amazing blog here. I really enjoyed looking around. 🙂
“Life of Pi” is one of my favorite books. The journey it takes you on will be rather enlightening!
Thank you! I appreciate it. I finished “Life of Pi” and it was incredible. I was not expecting anything besides an adventure story, but you’re right. It’s definitely enlightening.
