Designs for Conversations in Journalism 2014 Conference
These are designs for a conference that my classmates and I organized as part of the Columbia Journalism School Women in Media group. It was the first student-run conference, which was a day of women-led discussions where burgeoning media leaders asked questions and sparked discussions about the craft, technology, and prospects of journalism. The conference took place on April 5, 2014 at Columbia University in New York City.
I also designed the website, www.journoconvo.com, which contains more information on the conference.
#GIRLWITHABOOK Cover Photos
These are some cover photos I created using Adobe Photoshop for #GIRLWITHABOOK’s Facebook page.
#GIRLWITHABOOK began with a friend as a social media project in response to the horrifying attack on Malala Yousafzai in October 2012. We wanted to do something, so we decided to set up a Facebook page, Twitter account, and Pinterest board, and we asked our friends and family to send us pictures of themselves holding a book or a sign that says, “I stand with Malala.” This was our way of showing solidarity with Malala and every girl fighting to get an education.
Now we’re a registered non-profit organization working to raise awareness about the importance of girls’ education.
